SOP Builder (retired)

The SOP Builder was a prototype for authoring branching, flowchart-style standard operating procedures — a canvas of steps with outcomes, loops and conditional branches that an operator would be walked through on a live event.

It is no longer part of CleverOps. The /sop-builder page was removed in June 2026 and the address now redirects to Settings → Alarm Handling → Action plans.

What replaced it​

Action Plans do the same job with a flat, per-alarm-type form instead of a flowchart. For each alarm type you set:

  • Handling — control room, review queue, log & notify, or log only
  • Priority — critical, high, standard or low
  • Operator instructions — free text the operator sees on the card
  • Keyholder calling — who to ring, in what order, and what happens if nobody answers
  • Timing & SLA timers — response target, reminder nudge and auto-dispatch pre-select
  • Anti-abuse & auto-resolve rules
  • Checklists — the operator and responder steps described in Operator Checklists
  • Customer message & chips — what the customer is told

Fields are shown per profile (life-safety, intrusion, tamper/fault, power/comms, open-close/schedule, test), so each alarm type offers only the options that make sense for it — a mains-failure plan can wait for restore but can never dispatch, and a panic plan can dispatch but never auto-resolve.

An Action Plan resolves through five layers, most specific winning: per-site → site type → control-room default → profile → built-in default. Per-site plans are edited on Site details → Monitoring → Alarm handling.

Why the flowchart was dropped​

An Action Plan has no branching graph. In practice the branches the prototype offered — password correct versus wrong versus duress, inside versus outside business hours, parked until the customer replies — are handled by the per-alarm-type profile, the checklist step types (including Verify password), and the supervision escalation ladder, which is where staged, delay-driven follow-up actions genuinely belong.
