Your Account

The Account page holds your personal details, as opposed to your control room's. It is reached from the avatar menu in the top bar and applies across every company and VCR you belong to — changing your name here changes it everywhere.

Accessing your account

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right of the top bar.
  2. Choose Account.

EmailRead-only — it is your sign-in identity. Contact support to change it.
PhoneConfirmed with a one-time code before it is saved. See below.

First and last name save when you click Save profile.

Confirming your phone number

Your mobile number is the one field here that is treated as an identity claim rather than a preference. A keyholder invitation can be matched to a person by their number, and call lists and alarm notifications are built off it — so before a new number can be attached to your account, you have to prove you can receive messages on it.

What you will see

Under the phone field, one of three things:

  • ✓ Verified — you confirmed this number with a code. Nothing to do.
  • Not verified. [Send a code] — the number on file works normally, but it was never confirmed. Numbers that were on the platform before this was introduced are all in this state, and they keep working; confirming is an offer, not a demand.
  • New number — we'll send a code to confirm it's yours. [Send code] — you have typed a different number and it has not been saved yet.

Confirming a number

  1. Type the new number into the phone field.
  2. Click Send code. A 6-digit code is sent to that number — on WhatsApp where possible, otherwise by SMS.
  3. The page tells you which number the code went to, partly masked (082 ··· 4567), and which channel carried it. If the mask is not the number you meant, correct the field and send again.
  4. Type the code and click Confirm.

You can ask for another code with Resend after 60 seconds. A code lasts 10 minutes, and you get 5 attempts at it before it is closed and you have to request a new one.

Your old number stays live until the new one is confirmed

The new number is not written to your profile until the code comes back. Until then your existing number is what the platform holds, and it keeps working for call lists and notifications. Clicking Save profile part-way through a change saves your name only — it does not save an unconfirmed number.

Removing your number

Clearing the phone field and clicking Save profile removes the number. That needs no code — you are taking away your own contact detail, not claiming one.

If a code does not arrive

  • Check the masked number the page showed you — the most common cause is a typo.
  • Codes are limited to one per minute, and to a handful per hour, per account and per number. If you have been retrying, wait and try again.
  • WhatsApp is tried first. If your number has no WhatsApp account, the code falls back to SMS automatically — there is nothing to switch.

Signing up

When you create a CleverOps account, the phone number you enter is stored but not yet confirmed — there is no session to send a code against at that point. The Account page will show it as Not verified with a Send a code button from the first time you open it.

Change password

The second card on the page changes your sign-in password. Enter the new password twice — at least 6 characters — and click Update password. You stay signed in.

To reset a password you cannot remember, use Forgot Password on the sign-in screen instead.

  • Your phone number in a customer or contact record is a different thing entirely, and is never asked to confirm itself: staff typing a customer's number are trusted for the accounts they onboard. See Customers.
  • The equivalent screen in the CleverAlert app is Edit Profile.
