Dates and times

Times are always 24-hour

Every time CleverOps shows you is 24-hour, zero-padded: 07:05, 14:30, 23:59, 00:05. There is no AM or PM anywhere — not on screen, not in a report PDF, not in an email or a WhatsApp message, not in an export.

This is deliberate. A control room reading "4:30" cannot tell an 04:30 forced entry from a 16:30 one, and the two mean very different things at handover. One clock, read the same way by everyone.

The one place a 12-hour time is still accepted is importing. A clock file or a bank statement you upload can say 6:02 AM — CleverOps will read it and store it as 06:02.

Entering a time

Every time field is two segments — hours, then minutes — with a stepper and a clock icon.

• Type it. Click the hours and type 1900. The field moves to the minutes on its own as soon as the hours cannot take another digit, so 7 jumps straight across (there is no hour starting with 7 that is two digits).
• Step it. ↑ and ↓ move by five minutes; ← and → move between hours and minutes. Both wrap, so 23:55 stepped up once is 00:00. The scroll wheel works on whichever segment has focus.
• Pick it. The clock icon opens the whole day at once — 24 hour buttons, then minutes. The 15 / 5 / 1 switch above the minutes changes how fine the choices are. Now sets the current time; Done closes.

A field with nothing in it reads --:--. Typing any digit fills it in.

Entering a date

The date field shows the date in words (12 Jul 2026) and opens a calendar.

• The week starts on Monday.
• Today carries a ring; the day you have chosen is filled in.
• Days outside the allowed range are dimmed and cannot be picked.
• Today in the footer jumps back to the current day. Where a field is optional, Clear empties it.

A date and time field is the two controls side by side — the calendar for the day, the segments for the time.

Picking a month

Where a screen works in whole months — a billing period, a month-end report — the control is a button rather than a field. Empty it reads Pick a month; once set it reads the month itself, Jul 2026.

Clicking it opens a small panel: the year across the top with Previous year and Next year arrows, and a grid of the twelve months under it. Months outside the range that screen allows are dimmed and cannot be picked. Picking one closes the panel.

You will meet it on the Month filter under Performance → Reports, on Roster → Attendance → Month end, on the Custom option under Roster → Reports, and on the usage figures under Settings → Messaging.

Time windows

Anywhere CleverOps stores a window rather than a single moment — a shift, a site's opening hours, quiet hours, a test cycle, a standby line — the control shows more than two boxes:

• a duration, so you can see at a glance that a shift is 12 hours and not 2;
• a 24-hour rail under the fields, one tick per hour, lit for the hours the window covers;
• a Crosses midnight flag when the end is earlier than the start.

An end earlier than the start is correct, not an error. 18:00 → 06:00 is a night shift, and CleverOps says Crosses midnight rather than complaining.

The same time twice means the whole day. 08:00 → 08:00 is 24 hours of cover, not nothing — that is what a round-the-clock post is. Because it could just as easily be a typo, the control says Same start and end — the whole day so you can see which one you got.

In a dense list — a contact's week, a roster cycle, a site's trading days — the window folds onto one line: the two times, then how long it runs. The rail only appears where there is room for it.

Why it does not look like your browser's picker

CleverOps draws these controls itself rather than using the ones built into Chrome, Safari or Firefox. Two reasons:

1. Those follow your computer's clock setting. On a machine set to 12-hour they show an AM/PM spinner, so two operators on the same screen would read different things.
2. Each browser draws them differently, and none of them match the rest of CleverOps.

The same control appears in CleverCommand, and the CleverAlert, CleverTech and CleverSales apps use its phone equivalent — a scrolling wheel in a sheet — so a time looks and reads the same wherever you meet it.
