Mobile Panic Events
A mobile panic (Mobile Geo Panic, sent from the CleverAlert app's Location Panic feature) is different from every other event in your queue: it has no site. It's sent by an app user from wherever they physically are, and it carries the sender's live GPS position instead of a site address. It only reaches your queue if your control room's App panic policy in CleverOps (Settings → General) gives the sender site + location panic — either as the workspace default or as a per-person override. There is no enrolment or approval step any more; the sender's identity comes from their self-service emergency profile.
Every mobile panic arrives as a verified emergency -- it goes straight into your normal queue and dispatch flow like any other verified event, it's just missing the usual site context, which the rest of this page covers.
Spotting a Mobile Panic in the Queue
Because there's no site, mobile panic cards and rows show a red 📍 Mobile Panic badge with the sender's name instead of a site name -- for example 📍 Mobile Panic -- Jane Smith. This appears in Cards view, Table/row view, and anywhere else a site name would normally show (including the Active Events Map and Units Map location lists).
If the sender's name isn't available, the card falls back to a generic App user label rather than showing nothing.
Panic Sender Panel
Opening a mobile panic's event details shows a 📍 Panic sender panel in place of the usual site card. It's built from the sender's approved enrolment profile, so every field is optional -- only what the sender actually filled in appears:
- a selfie thumbnail (click to view full-size) and the sender's name;
- their phone number as a tap/click-to-call link;
- vehicle registration, shown prominently, plus make / model / colour;
- a vehicle photo, if one was submitted;
- an emergency contact name and phone; and
- their emergency medical alerts — the structured MED ALERT block (conditions, allergies, blood group, medication, mobility, contact and doctor with dialable numbers), or the older free-text medical notes on events that predate it.
Live Position on the Map
While the panic is active, the sender's phone posts a GPS point roughly every 20 seconds. The Panic sender panel shows:
- the current coordinates (linked out to Google Maps) and a reverse-geocoded street address when one can be resolved;
- a "Last update Xs ago" indicator that keeps ticking live -- if it passes about a minute without a fresh point (two missed updates), it's flagged as stale, since the sender's phone has likely stopped reporting; and
- a View on map button that opens the event's map modal focused on the sender.
On the map, the sender shows as a pulsing marker with a red breadcrumb trail tracing their recent movement -- both update live as new position points arrive, without needing to reopen the map.
Dispatching to a Mobile Panic
There's no site address to send a unit to, so dispatching a mobile panic sends the unit to the sender's current live position instead. The unit picker's distance and ETA sorting is calculated against that live position (labelled as the sender's name, e.g. "Jane Smith (live position)"), the same way it would be calculated against a site address -- see Dispatch Management for the rest of the dispatch workflow, which otherwise works identically to any other event.
The App SOS (a Site Panic with Live Location)
The CleverAlert panic-first Home (users whose only device is the Panic App) sends a different but related event: a site panic that also carries and streams the sender's live GPS. It keeps its site — the address, the call list and the site card are all there — and adds the live treatment on top:
- the queue card headline shows 📍 SOS · live location with the site name;
- the event page shows the same Panic sender panel and red breadcrumb live trail, and the map follows the sender's position; and
- dispatch defaults to the site address (unlike a site-less mobile panic) — the trail shows you where the sender actually is if they've moved.
On any app-raised emergency, the call list pins a red Pressed the panic pill on the person who raised it, and contacts now show their ID photo (the photo staff uploaded in CleverOps, or the person's own emergency-profile selfie) instead of just an initial.
Area Watch Heads-Up
A mobile panic also fans out a read-only Area Watch heads-up to any on-shift response units whose patrol area contains the panic's live coordinates -- the same mechanism used for other Area Watch alerts, labelled Mobile panic. Location panic is policy-driven per control room — the App panic default (or a per-person override) must give the sender site + location panic. It's configured in CleverOps under Settings → General → App panic; nothing is enrolled or approved.
