Burglary Vault

The Vault view of the Review Queue's Burglaries tab (switch to it with the Live cases / Vault control at the top of the tab) is the permanent archive of every confirmed-burglary case the control room has ever opened. Cases land here the moment they are confirmed and never leave: the platform blocks hard deletes, the activity log is append-only, and evidence files are archived into private storage — so the record stays complete long after the original event data has been pruned from the live system.

Use it for compliance look-backs, insurance and SAPS follow-ups, month-end reporting, or revisiting an old incident.

The register

The view opens with four stat cards — cases in the vault, confirmed this month, signed off (with the percentage), and the median time to sign-off — followed by the register itself.

Finding a case:

  • Outcome switch — All, Confirmed, Reclassified, Inconclusive, or Not yet reviewed (cases still in the working Burglaries queue).
  • From / To dates — filter by when the case was confirmed.
  • Search — case number, site, OB number, SAPS CAS number, police station, operator or event number.

Each row shows the case number, site, confirmation date and operator, the police reference chips, the evidence count, the stage or final outcome, and who signed it off when.

Working with an archived case

Click a row to open the same case file used in the Burglaries queue — police record, incident details, evidence, responder reports, dispatch history, activity log and the frozen event snapshot.

  • Signed-off cases are locked. To make a change (for example a CAS number that only arrived later), press Reopen case and give a reason. The previous sign-off stays in the activity log, the case returns to the working queue, and it comes back to the vault when it is signed off again.
  • Print case file produces a print-ready pack of the whole case for SAPS, insurers or auditors.

Exporting the register

Export CSV downloads the currently filtered register — case number, event, site, confirmation and review timestamps, the people involved, OB / CAS / station / officer references, stage, outcome and evidence counts — ready for a spreadsheet or an auditor.
