Brain SOP
The Brain SOP is the playbook the CleverCommand Brain (the proposal author) reads on every event before suggesting actions to the operator. The available tools are fixed in code; the SOP decides when to use which one.
Open it from the Brain SOP tab on the supervisor toolbox page at /more. The page has no sidebar entry and checks team-management permission and the Advanced Alarm Handling module before it renders — see Optional Surfaces.
The Brain SOP only affects sites running in Clever / Advance (Maven) mode. For sites not on that mode, the Brain does not author proposals, so editing the SOP has no effect.
Resolution order: global → VCR → site
When the Brain handles an event it builds the effective SOP in three layers, each one able to append to or fully replace the text accumulated so far:
- Global default — the base playbook shipped in the app. Read-only here (it lives in the codebase and requires a developer to change).
- VCR override — your control room's customisation of the global default.
- Site override — a customisation for a single site, layered on top of the VCR SOP.
A layer that is missing or set to Disabled contributes nothing, so the chain falls through to the layer below. With no overrides authored, every event uses the global default exactly as before.
Choosing a scope
At the top of the page, pick what you are editing:

When you choose Per-site override, a Site dropdown appears — pick the site to view or edit its override.
Choosing a mode
For either scope, choose how your text relates to the layer above it:

| Full override | Your text replaces the entire SOP for this scope. Use only when you want to rewrite the whole playbook. |
| Disabled | No override is applied; the scope falls through to the layer above (VCR → global). |
If you use Full override, keep the hard rules intact: duress safety (silent dispatch only), no auto-fire, the confidence floor, and one red proposal per event. A full override replaces everything, including those guardrails, for that scope.
Saving
Write your SOP in markdown, then click Save. The change takes effect on the next event the Brain handles for that VCR or site. The page shows when the override was last saved.
Every save is recorded in the company Audit trail (who changed which SOP, and when) for compliance and dispute defence.
