Timeline

The Timeline view on the Units page answers one question for the whole shift at a glance: who was on which unit, and which desk, from when to when? One lane per unit and per desk, one bar per person, so a changeover reads as one bar ending where the next begins. This is the record that ties a person to a vehicle — the bar on a unit lane says who was crewed on it, and therefore who drove it, for every hour of the window.

The window

The timeline always shows 24 hours. Pick the start date and the start time at the top; the start-time list leads with the control room's own shift boundaries (the start times of its unit and desk roster lines — 06:00 and 18:00 at most rooms), then every other hour. Now resets to the last completed shift plus the one running, so the most recent changeover sits in the middle of the picture rather than on an edge. The ‹ › buttons step a day at a time. Times are the control room's own clock, 24-hour. A window that reaches into the present refreshes itself every minute.

Where the room has both units and desks, All · Units · Desks narrows the lanes.

What the lanes show

Video A bar per person · 0:26
  • Bars are the actual stints. A unit lane draws the crew rows the Manage board, the CleverResponder Start shift and the roster wrote; a desk lane draws CleverCommand desk sign-ins, with one person's back-to-back sessions folded into a single bar. A bar still running ends at the red now line with a dashed edge; an amber edge means the person is past the unit's expected shift end. A D badge marks the driver. Hover for the exact times and how they came on (app, control room, roster, desk); click for the detail card.
  • Changeover dots sit along the top edge of a lane wherever somebody came on. On a unit lane the dot carries the vehicle checklist verdict: solid green when the person coming on submitted a shift-start or take-over check within the half hour before to ninety minutes after, amber when that check reported a fault, a dashed grey ring when no check was found. A desk dot simply marks the desk changing hands. A square dot means the newcomer came on while the previous person was still on.
  • Gaps — nobody on — draw hatched. A stretch shorter than five minutes between one person leaving and the next arriving is a handover, not a gap, and is not drawn.
  • The plan is the thin blue strip along the bottom of a lane: the roster's posting for that unit or desk, where the control room uses the Roster module in CleverOps. It is context, never the record — the bar is what happened.
  • The pills above the lanes count the window: lanes with someone on now, changeovers, unit changeovers without a vehicle check, and the unmanned time across the lanes that were in use (a unit nobody used or rostered in the window does not add 24 hours of "unmanned").

Vehicle checks are only readable by operators who may manage the fleet or the control room; anybody else sees the changeover dots in neutral grey and no vehicle-check pill, rather than being told nobody checked.

Minor adjustments

Click a bar to open its detail card: the person, the unit or desk, from and to, how they came on, the vehicle-check verdict at their start, and who the roster had there. On a unit stint, operators with the unit shift permission can put the record right:

  • Correct times — the card was dragged later or earlier than the person actually came on or went off. Move the start (and, for a finished stint, the end) to the real instants; the row keeps its history, and responder performance re-attributes call-outs through the corrected window. A stint cannot start or end in the future, and the end must follow the start.
  • Clock off now — end a stint that is still running. The same write as dragging the card off the unit.
  • Hand over to… — on a running stint, pick who takes over (anyone in the response pool not on a unit right now). The outgoing stint closes and the incoming one opens on the same instant, with the driver flag carried across.

Desk stints are recorded by CleverCommand itself as people sign in and out at their desks, so there is nothing to adjust on a desk lane.

  • Crewing Units — the Manage board where stints are opened and closed
  • Responders Roster — the pool, duty state and app login codes
  • CleverOps → Roster → Attendance → Timeline shows the same lanes to managers, alongside the roster plan and the month-end reading.
