Installing the Desktop App

The CleverCommand Desktop App is a dedicated Windows application for operator workstations. It runs the same CleverCommand you use in the browser — every web update applies immediately — and adds control-room hardening on top:

• Alarm sound always works. No "click to enable sound" step, and alarms keep sounding while the window is minimized or behind other applications.
• Can't be closed by accident. Closing the window only hides it to the system tray; actually quitting requires the supervisor PIN (when one is set in Settings → Desktop app).
• Instant reconnect. When the workstation wakes from sleep or unlocks, the app reconnects to the server within seconds and alerts you about any events that arrived while it was away.
• Always-on-top alert popups, multi-monitor layout restore, global shortcuts, and automatic shift/idle time recording.

Install

1. Run CleverCommand-Setup-<version>.exe on the workstation. The install is per-user and needs no administrator rights.

   warning

   The installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info → Run anyway.

2. The app starts automatically and opens the normal CleverCommand sign-in screen (login code + OTP). The window uses CleverCommand's own title bar (it follows your light/dark theme); the standard Windows minimize/maximize/close buttons stay in the top-right corner, and Windows snap layouts work as usual.

3. By default the app starts itself whenever the workstation boots. Toggle this from the tray icon (Start at login) or Settings → Desktop app.

CleverCommand keeps running in the Windows system tray:

• Double-click the tray icon to bring the window back.
• Show CleverCommand / Open Snapshot Wall — open the two app windows.
• Start at login and Keep display awake — per-workstation toggles.
• Check for updates / Restart to install update — the shell updates itself automatically (checked at launch and every 4 hours).
• Quit CleverCommand — asks for the supervisor PIN when one is set.

The first time you close the window, a balloon tip reminds you the app is still running and alarms still sound.

Two windows, two monitors

Open Snapshot Wall (tray menu or Ctrl+Alt+W) opens the snapshot wall in its own window. Drag it to a second monitor — the app remembers each window's position and reopens the wall on the same monitor after a restart.

Global shortcuts

These work even while another application is focused:
